About NIT Rourkela

NIT, Rourkela, was Ingrained in 1961 as an independent technical university. It has 20 departments with more than 7700 students, 390+ faculties, and 350+ staff members. NIT Rourkela is an NBA-recognized Independent technical University spread over 648 acres. Established by the Government of India, this institution is recognized as a leading Institute of National Importance. Academic programs range from undergraduate to doctoral programs with a total of 17 departments. NIT Rourkela offers BTech, BTech+MTech (Dual Degree), MBA, MSc, MCA, design management etc., in streams of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management, and Humanities. It has a track record of 95% placement percentage and 1326 job offers made; the average package offered at NIT Rourkela is INR 13.89 LPA, and if talking about the highest package, then it is INR 83.60 LPA.

NIT Rourkela BTech, MTech management and MBA median package 2023 stood at INR 12.5 LPA, INR 10 LPA, and INR 5 LPA individualy. In the session 2018-19, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, branches recorded 100% jpb placements with more than 24 students getting a package of more than INR 50 LPA. NIT Rourkela Highlights

A few Short term course was also introduced on Natural Language Processing and Exploring Deep Learning: Applications and Practical Implementations in June, 2024.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister Of Education, inaugurated six projects at NIT Rourkela campus to boost the admission of girl students.

There are 1988 degrees at 21st convocation programme.

This was earlier done by NIT Rourkela in 2022-2023, with the highest number of campus job placements with an increase in average CTC of 16% from INR 11.15 LPA in 2021-2022 to INR 12.95 LPA in 2022-2023.
