Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur is a public technological university located at Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal, India. Established in 1856, it has been regarded as an Institute of National Importance under Ministry of Education by the Government of India. Admission to B.Tech courses happens through merit at JEE Mains followed by JoSAA. Admission to M.Tech courses happens through GATE scores and CCMT counselling. and, having CAT/XAT minimum of 65 percentile and MAT/CMAT minimum of 85 percentile, may be considered for admission into the MBA programme. INR 8,500 to INR 71,000 per semester Category : B.TechProgrammes exist on categories. M.Tech OC/OBC/EWS ? 39,500 per semester. It was ranked "35th" for B.Tech & M.Tech by NIRF 2023. Student strength was over 4000, and more than 250+ faculty members were there. IIEST Shibpur Admission  current year

IIEST Shibpur Admission 2024 for its UG and PG program is based on the national-level entrance examinations. The institute offers a 4-year-long BTech program as its course in 9 different specialsiations. For the BTech admissions at IIEST Shibpur, candidates are required to appear for JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counseling for the final seat allotments. For the year 2023, IIEST Shibpur cutoff for the BTech program ranged from 10719-68185 ranks for the general category. IIEST Shibpur charges a fee of INR 1.5 Lakhs per year for its BTech program. Along with this, Integrated MTech and BArch programs are also offered by IIEST Shibpur based on the JEE Mains rank. 

IIEST Shibpur BTech Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the B.Tech program at IIEST Shibpur, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class / Qualifying examination. For SC/ST/PwD candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class / qualifying examination.

Students should have passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

IIEST Shibpur BTech Selection Criteria

The selection criteria of the Candidates will be selected on the basis of rank secured in the JEE Mains entrance examination.

The final selection of the candidates will be done through the JoSAA Counseling process.

Seats are reserved on the basis of JEE Main Cutoff, availability of seats, category, choice filling, and other factors.

How To Apply for JEE Main?

IIEST Shibpur BTech admissions are based on JEE Main score. The institute conducts JoSAA counselling for BTech admission. The step wise application process is given below:

Step1: To apply for JEE Main, aspirants need to visit, @jeemain.nta.ac.in

Step 2: Read the instructions and information form. JEE Main will be conducted two times (Session-1 and Session-2). 

Step 3: Fill out the application form by providing the necessary details and take a printout for further reference. The fees for JEE Main 2024 registration is INR 1000 for the Male candidates. The fees for female candidates is INR 800 while SC/ST/PwD category candidates need to pay INR 500.

Placement Data

The placement record of IIEST Shibpur is good however it has deteriorated during the last two years. The students are eligible for internships from the third year and placements from the final year of the course. Companies like Microsoft, Google, PWC, Tata Steel, and Texas Instruments are some that visit our campus. The average package is around 12 lacs per annum and this year the highest package offered to a student is around 3.5 Cr per annum (off-campus placement ) by Barclays UK.
