About IPU
Basically, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, commonly known as IP University or IPU, is a state university located in Delhi. It is one of the largest universities in Delhi. The university measures 78 acres with a campus, and it has registered more than 8000 students. It is a UGC-recognized university accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC. In the NIRF 2023 rankings, IPU ranked 74th among all the universities in India. IPU has more than 120 affiliated colleges of which 83 are self-financed and 35 are owned and managed by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
More than 50 UderGraduate, PostGraduate, and Research management programs are available in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, design, Management, Law, and Medicine, among many others. The university is fine in every respect and is popular for its related courses such as BTech, MBA, BBA, BCA, and LLB programs. Admission to most of the courses at IPU is done through IPU CET (Common Entrance Test) followed by a counselling process. Besides this, the university also considers the scores of national-level entrance exams like CUET, JEE Main, NIMCET, CAT, and NEET for admission to its different courses. More than 90% of the placement percentage is recorded at GGSIPU. In the recently conducted placement drive for this year 2024, both the highest and average package rose by 41 percent compared to the last year. The highest and average package offered to the candidate turned out to be INR 45 LPA and NR 12 LPA, respectively. The IPU hostel has a whole lot of facilities. The rooms in the hostel are good in size, with 3 almirahs and 3 study tables, whether you are living as a single share, double share, or tripple share. Separate hostels for girls and boys are there. Mess has little bad quality of food. There are AC rooms, too, and in non-AC rooms, coolers are provided by the college. If one needs PG, he/she can refer to the local PGs at Knowledge Park 3.
